This new year, I am selling socks and haramaki, all died with home-grown indigo!

Last year (2018) was such a fruitful year for me.  From planting seeds to harvesting indigo, meeting, sharing, talking and learning with the most modest funky deep indigo man.  Until now, I had made sukumo but had not yet dyed with it.  This summer, with a lot of encouragement from Cozo, I was able to step into dyeing.

I made socks and haramaki because I love the feeling of indigo touching my skin.  Indigo is of course known for its medicinal properties, I don’t know if I can say that is what I feel when I wear indigo close to my skin, but it makes me feel protected, and loved!

From seeds to someone’s life~ my indigo socks and haramaki will hopefully find new homes!

 

 

２０１９年、新年から、私の育った藍で染めた靴下と腹巻きで出店します！

２０１８年は私にとって、とても前に進む一年間でありました。夏に偶然の出会いから、背中をちょうどいい具合に押してもらって、今まで蒅を作ってももったいなくて染められなかった自分から、自分の育った藍で染物ができる自分になりました。たくさん一緒に話をして、シェアして、作業をして、勉強しましたファンキーでディープでとても謙虚な風間さんに大感謝です。

白が一瞬で青くなる。その瞬間。本当に感動的で美しいです。染める度に、心がとても静かになります。今回、染めたのは靴下、腹巻きです、ベービーブランケットも一つだけあります。その物のチョイスは、私が直接肌に触れる藍染のものを身につけると、なにか、守られている気持ちになるのを、誰かに、感じてもらって、共感したいから。aïniの靴下と腹巻きがどんな場所に旅立っていくのでしょう。。。
